SCFM performed an assessment of the existing compression in use at our Lilli Gas Plant, and evaluated for suitability under new operating conditions as required for a plant expansion and resulting new process conditions. Our original plan had been a combination of reconfiguration of some of the compression and replacement of other equipment in order to meet the new needs. As a result of SCFM's assessment, it was determined that all of the new conditions could be met with the existing compression through redeployment and optimization of available horsepower. This not only prevented having to purchase new compression and increased utilization of existing assets, but had the added benefit of saving time and money associated with permitting new equipment. They also assisted in developing a plan that would minimize compression downtime during implementation of the changes while providing no interruption in production and sales volumes. A "quick hit" was identified and proven that a perceived problem with compression horsepower, suction pressure, and unit capacity would be corrected by implementation of the proposed changes.
SCFM technical personnel are very experienced, competent, and clearly look for the best value in solving the issues in a way that meets business unit objectives rather than focusing on the "ideal" solution. They were able to quickly gain the confidence of operations personnel in their capability and knowledge, and worked very well with 3rd party providers for a coordinated and seamless solution. I would recommend SCFM services for those looking to optimize their existing assets by having true compression experts providing quality evaluations and having no other objective than adding value to the customers operation, and any time you have a unique challenge requiring broad consideration of options and alternatives.
